LOUISVILLE, KY
Date/Time: August 22, 2024, 2:00pm
Location: Amped 1219 W Jefferson St. Suite 206, 40203
On Thursday, August 22nd, Adventurous Minds Produce Extraordinary Dreams (Amped) will announce a major gift to support the Amped Russell Technology Business Incubator. The gift will support the small business development strategy in Louisville to strengthen local ecosystems for marginalized business owners by filling critical ecosystem gaps, improving coordinated delivery and expanding capacity. Media are invited to attend the announcement at Amped’s offices.
The Amped Russell Technology Business Incubator (RTBI) is the first small business incubator and technical assistance provider in the Russell Neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky with a specific focus on supporting Black owned businesses and startups in underserved and underrepresented communities.
RTBI is designed as a state-of-the-art Black business incubator and technology service center offering business development training, business services, assessments, referrals, and wraparound services to incubating businesses. RTBI provides the support small businesses need to launch in West Louisville communities and neighborhoods across the city. This includes access to accounting, legal services, business coaching, mental health counseling, seed capital, education and more. We are currently in our fourth year and participants range from startups to established businesses that have struggled to thrive due to the absence of reliable business networks, access to business education, and access to fair capital to grow their businesses successfully.
All media are invited to attend. Amped RTBI business founders/participants will be in attendance to discuss the benefits of this program.
About Amped: Founded in May 2014, Amped has grown from a music academy to a family-oriented ecosystem – serving youth and adults through free music education, technology workforce development, and business incubation. We are especially investing in the people and the places of the west end – including the Amped Innovation Center at 25th and W. Broadway and the creation of the Russell Station Tech and Learning Center at 17th and W. Market. Our guiding vision is to build generational wealth for families and entrepreneurs, creating self-sufficiency, economic mobility, and a more equitable society. In just one decade, Amped has become Louisville’s largest home-grown, Black-led, Black-serving nonprofit.
