ALL YOUTH SHOULD HAVE EQUAL ACCESS TO THE ARTS.

Your zip code or economic condition shouldn't matter. Please help AMPED provide access.

about us

AMPED is a free music program that uses music as a catalyst to empower youth to work as a team, learn how to express themselves effectively, and develop into healthy, productive members of our community and the world.

Music

Youth explore their creativity through song writing, music composition, recording, engineering, technology and more.

Mentoring

At AMPED we use music as the connecting conduit to reach our youth and to meet them where they are.

Technology

Making sure that our youth have the skills of the future will give them the ability to chart their own paths.

AMPED receives recognition for its social justice and mobilization efforts in the Black community during the COVID-19 pandemic from Russell: A Place of Promise and the Public Welfare Foundation.

“AMPED’s work, which operates at the intersection of music, technology and entrepreneurism, is critical to build pathways to success for young people in Louisville. It is programs like AMPED that prove that the arts can function equally as a source of inspiration and opportunity in a 21st-century creative economy.”

Brett Egan, President, DeVos Institute of Arts Management

WHY SHOULD YOU SUPPORT AMPED

  •  AMPED has supported over 1,200 kids throughout the Kentuckiana area. That’s 14 area codes & 30 + schools!
  • We inspire youth between the ages of 8-18 to get creative through the power of music. Our youth have taken classes in music production, instrumental studies, vocal performance, creative writing, music history, videography, and so much more!
  • AMPED is not solely at AMPED @ Flaget or AMPED @ Shelby, we meet under served communities or individuals wherever they are at. We’ve done work in multiple JCPS schools, Louisville Youth Detention Services, Neighborhood House, Community Centers around the city, and many more!
  • We assist families too, through National Center for Families Learning. A program dedicated to empower families through education, skills training, and employment opportunities.
  • Not only have our students performed on some of the biggest stages in Louisville since 2014, we’ve also traveled outside of Kentucky to perform with legendary acts such as, Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
  • Upon graduating AMPED’s seniors receive a scholarship and a laptop for college or trade school.
  • All of AMPED’s programming is FREE.

“At AMPED we acknowledge that the youth we serve are capable of great things but they lack the resources and support to be the greatest that they can be. Our goal is to provide the resources that they need to thrive. When we do they have yet to let us down.”
